The Portable Workspace
direction, editing, and production
discovery, design, and delivery
Assigned to a group of three to design a product to make the study experience better in a world where every student uses a combination of analog and digital methods.

Explored various personas to develop empathetic understanding of study needs and habits through design thinking methods.

DISCOVERY: Observed students studying in both high and low traffic areas and conducted interviews to discover insights revolved around the collegiate study experience. Insights led us to three personas of the "busy bee" and our problem statement of: The Busy Bee needs a way to quickly access their work in a variety of locations throughout their jam-packed schedule, because they seek to maximize their time.

DESIGN: With the busy bee in mind, we completed two rounds of prototyping and testing. The first round resulted in three solutions - the Accessible Backpack, the Task assistant, and the Portable Workspace. After selecting to refine the Portable Workspace, the second round of prototyping and testing focused on dimensions and features of the product.

DELIVERY: Our final solution became a three paneled, foldable workspace equipped with a whiteboard, magnetic surface, and other features.
