oNDemand Snacks

discovery, design, and delivery

direction, production & editing

Assigned to a group of three to redesign the experience of buying snack foods for Notre Dame students.

The group utilized design research methods and the design thinking process to develop our digital solution.

DISCOVERY: We began observing students snack in their dorm rooms and public campus spaces. After two rounds of interviews and focus groups about the snacking process, we developed insights like "Snacking isn't for survival, it's for our favorite stuff."Insights led to our problem statement: Notre Dame students need a way to make the snacking process more comfortable, because the current method involves too much scavenging.

DESIGN: We completed three rounds of brainstorming, ideation, prototyping, and testing for a variety of analog and digital solutions. The three final solutions included "Snuber": a collaborative app where students can deliver unwanted snacks to another or have snacks delivered to them;  "Snackzam": an app that finds the nearest mart or location that sells a specific snack; and"Self-Sent": a service in The Huddle Mart which prepares a weekly snack box students can sign up for.

DELIVERY: The final round of feedback influenced our final solution, which included components of the three final solutions. oNDemand snacks, therefore, is an app that delivers personalized snack boxes to the desired location. Click on first image to view presentation and scroll to bottom of page for delivery video below.
